Outline of Job Specification for Marketing Manager

The role will require you be responsible for market research, product development, promotions and much more to make sure the campaign is as successful as it can be.

Day to day your time will be spend doing a range of tasks, such as:

  • monitoring and analysing market trends
  • studying competitors’ products and services
  • exploring ways of improving existing products and services, and increasing profitability
  • identifying target markets and developing strategies to communicate with them.

 

Required Skills, Knowledge and Characteristics:

This role will require the following set of skills from the marketing manager.

  • have knowledge of a wide range of marketing techniques and concepts
  • be an excellent communicator
  • be able to respond well to pressure
  • think creatively
  • be interested in what motivates people

 

Daily tasks and duties:

The selected marketing manager will be required to perform in each of these areas.

  • monitoring and analysing market trends
  • studying competitors’ products and services
  • exploring ways of improving existing products and services, and increasing profitability
  • identifying target markets and developing strategies to communicate with them
  • preparing and managing marketing plans and budgets
  • managing the production of promotional material
  • liaising with other internal departments such as sales and distribution
  • producing reports to monitor results
  • presenting findings and suggestions to company directors or other senior managers
  • travelling to trade shows, conferences and sales meetings
  • supporting and managing a marketing team.

 

Advantageous to your application:

If you have experience in any of the following areas please make it clear as it will be advantageous to your chances of being invited to interview.

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing
  • Previous experience in a marketing or similar role
  • Knowledge of the Adobe software suite including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Premiere
  • Experience using Content Management systems, specifically WordPress
